I was just wondering if I'm the only one that wonders about what happens to some of the builds on the forum? Like the one with the strange rings in the finish? Do you think people just get frustrated with there build and give up? I know there are several more than the one I mentioned. But again I was just wondering... It's also good to see that some have come back to the forum. I know we all get busy and in life things always are changing but for me Guitar Attack has been a good source of info for my hobby and all the people on here are the best. Even though I have not got to meet any of you there are some I feel like I have known them for a long time. It's cool to have a place like this to come and share our ideas and the love of our passion to build guitars. So a big THANKS to all who have helped me and put up with all my questions.

Yeah the guy with the rings. And what about franz? I thought for sure he was a complete addict after that beautiful relic he did. Did we get to see that amp finished? I don't think so. d

hey rover, I thought the rule was only one ridiculously expensive hobby each. I was planning to drop a v/8 in an old VW bus but I decided I would rather spend what little fun money I have on guitars. So it's leaving tomorrow. Gotta love Craigs list. Actually I think it's really great that you get to build and race cars and guitars both. Yeah eddie this amp thing with franz is really starting to tick me off. He better post the finished amp and quick or it could get real ugly around here. d

dane, ive got a godin style solid body electric that ive got to route the body for. couple neck blanks glued up for people that ive been putting off lol
last weekend the ecu in my m3 went stupid and pinned the throttlewide open. ignition wouldnt kill. i had no choice but to stand on the clutch and let her blow. threw 2 rods. a $350 ecu wind up costing me over $4000. found a block in deleware so i drove out and got it. $850 for the block, another $750 for the new crank and rods, pistons were another $500 after i had them machined. and about anoth $1500-2000 in odds and ends. allways something. my wife told me i gotta stop using the plastic cash lol

That one reason I quit building Hot rods! Just got too expensive to go out play and then have something happen to them.
But back to what ever happened? Yeah I too would like to see that amp and guitar together. But who knows what happened!

rover, I'm bleeding here. I know that sort of thing happens all the time in racing but man that's a huge hit. Speaking of huge hits if I put 4K on plastic that's what my wife would do to me. I'd be picking up pieces of myself. d

chris, the chipset im running is the euro race spec chipset,no speed limiter or rev limiter unlike the tame us chipsets. it pulls strong to 8700 rpms. i hit the recall switch on my tach and when it threw rods it was spinning 9000 rpms. the ecu is to blame it got hot and a jumper wire shorted out. im gonna put a couple of fans on the new one.
dane,i put it on my business card lol but still lol im out of the running for specE30 now so the m3 wont be ran this weekend. ill be autocrosing the 1971 2002 in the vintage class.

Cars, guitars and women! It's funny how these threads go off on rabbit trails... HE! HE! Do you remember the Little Red Wogon? Or Mr. Gas. Or Hurst Himi cuda! There are many others Back then we raced a car called the mouse house gang. 37 Elngish Panel. It really had a 427 big block Chevy in it and ran 9's all day long. Boy that was a lot fun!

funny story, when i first built the m3 the body parts were different colors, main cabin was in primer orange and i was running open header. 292 lift and duration cams. sounded nasty cracking and popping. i took it out for a blast and i hooked some guy in a big block roadrunner. he was talking stuff hard lol he said ill give u 2 lengths exit to exit i told him ill give you a 1/8th mile handicap. he took it. he didnt runnd the motor up against the stall converter and left from a dead stop. i let him go. he got about 1/8th mile and i took off. i passed him in 3rd gear pushing 90 at 7500 r's. by the time he got to the exit i was pulled off at the turn around lol
4040 mopar big block against a 1.9ltr 4 cylinder. cant beat german engineering lol

I beat one of those Mercedes Benz spots car. I had a 69 Z28 pushing just over 475 horse the guy said he could blow me in the weeds. So I raced him form one light to another I beat him by 6 cars the lights were about a mile apart. He wouldn't even look at me at the other light. But you are right I have seen some amazing 4 cylinder cars in my past. I've even seen some VW bugs doing 9sec. 1/4 miles on Nos. But for me the old hot rods of the 60's and early 70's were some of the best. there is nothing like a car lifting the front end off the ground and feeling the g force of that ride and at the end of the strip finding out you just went 180 miles per hour.

im running all motor. thing is your big block might be pushing 450+hp but there is no way in hell you can push it 6500-7000rpms safly. all that power is fine in a straight line. take it to a twisty road your feelings will be severly hurt. btw my m3 is pushing 300hp on all motor. cant run spray but you can run a super charger or single turbo. i get some thrill out of straigh line blasts but the real thrill is pulling 2 1/2-3 g's at 85-90mph thru turns.
