we came back from a weekend of running my 2 bmw's(89 m3 & 71 2002) at the track yesterday to find my shop and music room ransacked. all my power tools gone, all the top sets i just glued up and planed smashed,2 guitars i had in for repair smashed. all the windows busted out, walls spray painted with nuts i cant read. then theres the climate controlled soild cedar lined room that had ALL of my guitars, amps, sound equipment and parts. all amps gone, pedal boards gone. 10 of my 12 guitars gone. the 2 that are left are unrepariable.
the thing that sucks the most is i had a large number of original ovation and adamas prototypes that were gifts from bill kaman(son of ovation founder charlie kaman) that are unreplacable. not to mention my gibson sg hand signed by angus young.
when it rains it pours. police came, the fat bastard said and i quote "looks like some kids just being kids" i bit my tounge but i wanted to go off. my insurance is only gonna cover tools, and guitars that i was able to provide doucumentation on. so im pretty well screwed. i guess ill be watching ebay and the local pawn shops. i know the serials on all of my guitars.
so im done venting i guess.
any of you guys in the md/nova/wva area keep a eye on your stuff.

Man, I really hate to hear that.
What is really disturbing is that someone -- or a group of someones -- had so little respect for you, our laws, and our society that not only did they steal from you, but they also vandalized your property.
If you post the descriptions I'm sure everyone on the board will help with watching eBay and Craigslists.
Again, sorry to hear of your loss, John

Good Lord! I feel so badly for you! I hope you catch those mental midgets and put the hurt on them!
If you'd like, I could post a link to this thread over on the Reranch forum. There are several members of that forum in the Va/WV/MD area.

Oh Man I hate too hear of stuff like this! What is wrong with people! Boy This makes me mad! I am so sorry to read about your loss! Cops sometimes are the most heartless. I speak from experience. Well, I wont go there. I'm on eBay a lot I'll keep a look out but the sad things is they will prob. strip them down and sell the parts. Wish I could do more...

Man that is awful. Like Chris said it's heart breaking. Just because it's insured doesn't make it the same guitar. I feel for you Bro. dane

ive had the signed sg since 1993. a friend of my dads is a show promoter and he got us vip passes to a ac/dc show and i got to meet angus and get my sg signed. it just makes me sick because ive spent alot of time and money on my collection. the money is not the issue, the issue is 90% of my stuff is one of a kind and not like i can go down to guitar center and replace them.
i played my godins with the band every thursday night, they were my stage guitars. so untill insurance comes thru(they like to string stuff out) im gonna have to go buy a hohner thinbody classical to play live. wich means i cant rely on the midi to cover my slipups and mistakes lol

turned up in a pawnshop in dundalk md,baltimore county. some crackhead told the cops some dude gave him $10.00 to sell it.
the shop keep kept the guy there and called the police, the guitar got knocked off the counter, dented the lower bought of the body, took a chip out of the bass side horn. neck survived tho. the autograph is intact tho. i doubt its worth what is was but i got it back. still plays like a 70's gibson tho lol
2 more recovered today. both godins. no harm done to them. they turned up at the shop i bought them from in martinsburg wva. shop owner bought them back. police not involved that one tho.
