All -- I received an email from a friend today with the following Van Halen-related link. Any true VH fan would have heard the rumor of this contract rider, and it appears that Smokinggun.com has found a copy of it. Check it out: www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2008/1211081vanhalen1.htmlOh, to have been a big-time rocker back in the day! John

Yeah, I've heard about the M&Ms, I think Spinal Tap paradied it, but who got the KY Jelly!?! This is a pretty outragous site.
Check out Iggy and the Stooges for any fans out there. ZZ top was pretty tame. I expected farm animals there!

Just played a show last night. For free. I got two (2) pieces of pizza, one (1) hot fudge Sunday and two (2) diet Pepsi's. Absolutely no brown M&Ms. They can't mess with me. dane

I heard they added that rider after a show where the stage was poorly assembled, just to see how closely people were paying attention to the contract.

Of course, we all know that promoters are fine, upstanding citizens - pillars of the community with morals beyond reproach.

...and he's taken his fee out of the check as a favor to the band... So how do you divy up 87 cents? Give the drummer a little less?
