Hey thought I would chime in on this. I bought my granddaughter one of the Fender Squire baby Strats. For 99. dollars and free shipping it turned out to be a cool little guitar. I had to do a set up on it but the guitar plays and sounds real good. I read some of the feed back on this guitar and a lot of people don't seem to like it. But it sounds like a Strat. and it plays good. It has low action. My Granddaughter loves it. She just turned 8 I got it for her 6th B-Day. She is learning to play Happy together.

Will you be my Grandpa too? Only thing mine ever gave me was a five spot to go pick him up some more beer, then I had to give him the change...

Well, I never knew my grand parents. So I guess that's why I spoil the ones I have ( 9 ). So I guess one more wouldn't hurt!

I know this is a late reply but here goes. I recently got a Douglas SR-1 (Rhoades type Vee) from Rondo on sale for $147.62 shipped. I didn't have to TOUCH it when it got here, and that was just boxed, NO CASE. I promise you on my honor that not only is it a great Inexpensive guitar, it honestly is one of the BETTER guitars I have ever played. The ONLY thing wrong with mine, if your picky, is at the neck heel there is a thin spot ( inch x 1/16th ) on the bodies very edge that you can see primer under the clear coat. For that price I'm TOTALLY FLOORED with it, gonna leave it stock.

Now this thread is re-opened again I have a question for you all.... I had a discussion with someone I know about what is more fun, A few cheaper guitars or just one expensive. Personally I think it's way more fun to find a good and cheap guitar then just buy a 2k guitar. It gives a good feeling if you did a good purchase for not so much money ;D Sadly the person I had the discussion with couldn't agree with me on that. Anyone else has some input?

Well, lets see... I have had both the high end and low end guitars. The high end ones are nice but for me I don't like to take them out to play. Because I don't want them to come up missing or broke. I have a lot more fun with my low end ones because I don't worry as much about them getting hurt or coming up missing. But I also think it is fun to find an inexpensive guitar and tweak it and make it play good. I have one guitar that I bought at a pawn shop. S-Stile it is by far the best sound best playing S-Stile I have ever had. For a 150 dollar guitar I would put up against any S-Stile on the market to day. I did have to do some work to it But I got the guitar for 75 and put in an other 75. I could not be happier! My real S-Stile just sits in the case. So yes I think inexpensive are more fun!!! But what I do I know I love guitars!!!!

Over the years I've spent way too much fun time on Squires and various other oriental guitars. I like to build "sleeper" guitars. Look cheap but blow somebodies butt off! My favorite are vintage cheap. Old Teiscos and the less desirable Kay Vanguards (working on one now). Rondo music has some good ones.

Boy I remember Teisco guitars! We had a store in Riverside CA that you could buy them for around 35 to 45 dollars. A friend of mine bought a ES335 copy for 35 dollars and the thing sounded and played grate!!! He still has it and wont sell it! Of course this was back in 1969 1970. Boy do I miss those days!!!

Only on my cheap beginner Ibanez (gsa60) broke the pots really fast so I can't reduce the volume or adjust the tone. But that's just a little thing which can be replaced fast. I got also a J&D brothers les paul copy which plays awesome but I don't think they sell them in the USA so sorry for you

There is this guitarist I know that his fingers are so big that he uses one finger to do Em or to do an A in first position. He even get to cheat doing bar cords. My fingers are long and skinny and double jointed so I too get to cheat on bar cords or double noting.
