I never really liked ska until my friend got free tickets to a concert, and i decided to go just to blow off the evening, because i had nothing to do.
Anyways, there was this band there, called Reel Big Fish. Anyone heard of them? They are a great live band, and i bought their bootleg with came with some studio songs, and i really love this stuff. They are the typical ska band, vocalist, lead guitar, backup guitar, bassist, trumpeteer(?), drummer, and some lame dancer guy who i think they hired 5 minutes before the show and let him get drunk to dance on stage the whole time.
They are a serious band, but they have a sense of humor. For instance, their bootleg CD was called Our LIve Album is Better THan Your Live Album, and they have several musical-comedy(?) songs on there, such as She Has A Girlfriend Now, Ban the Tube Top, and Dateless Losers.
Anyways, check them out on YouTube or iTunes or whatever if youre interested. FYI my favorite of theirs is a song called Beer(no its not what you think) and i think it was the intro riff that got me.
