I thought I'd try something new, and post this here... it very well might not be this board's "cup-o-tea", but maybe it will spur some interesting chat.... I recorded this quite fast (it shows in the very sloppy lead guitar work), but I think it has a fairly nice "live" sound to it... I'm playing my Peavey T-60 for all the guitar parts, and an SX (China) bass. The drums are from an application called Robota, if I recall... recorded with Magix Music Studio (ver 12). Tell me what you think, even if you think it sucks! Gimme Shelter

Sounds quite good. Recording quality isnt that good. The only part i don't like is the little beaps in the background at the beginning.
Have you heard of a band called Franz Ferdinand? They are a band that used to be local where I am, but now quite popular. Your effects and vocals sound like them (your voice is very similar to lead vocalist), especially your effects on your vocals, but your lead work is a notch above theirs.
Edit: yes i know Franz Ferdinand is an arch-duke who was assassinated in some war. One of the band members i think is related to him and they liked the name so they named their band that. Kind of like a Van Halen or Bon Jovi thing, but kind of weirder.

Enjoyed the song. It is one of my favorite Stones songs. I would try a different drum sound, but that is just my opinion. Very cool. By the way....Franz Ferdinand, aka Archduke Ferdiand, was assassinated in 1914. His death lead to World War I. Click on the link to read about it. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_in_SarajevoJohn

Bring the vocals up a little more in the mix, I like that bit of delay on your voice. I'd bring the lead guitar down a little bit until the outro, and I think it would sound great with the drum track from the original!

I have to agree that the drum track is the weakest link... I'll have to see what I can do with that. Remember, I said I whipped this out very quickly!!! The mix could use some tweaking, definitely... RE: Franz Ferdinand. I had to go to YouTube to listen to some videos before I remembered who they were. I must admit there is a similarity! Thanks to all for your comments. If I can make time to follow your recommendations, I'll post up the new version...
