I just replaced the stock speakers in my Marshall Micro-Stack (its not just a gimmick amp, it sounds great!) with two Eminence RamRod speakers. It’s a 15 Watt, solid-state amp with 2x 10” 25 Watt speakers at 16 Ohms. The RamRod speakers are 8 Ohms at 35 Watts each. What a difference, my 15 watter no longer sounds small! Punchier, brighter and louder. As you would expect with the Red Coat series speakers, plenty more mid-range than the stock speakers. There is less break-up so the distortion is not as full, but that’s why I give Boss so much money. It may not be your pick-ups or your ears….try swapping your speakers, its easy and fairly cheap.

Steve -- Concur with your assessment. A good speaker swap can make a world of difference. I have always liked the Eminence speakers, and I have an old Traynor with an Eminence.
Those little Marshalls are cool...rock on.
