looks like a groovy shop. Really cheesy promos. Where are the twin city's? CK is correct. The Twin Cities are Minneapolis/St. Paul MN I live in the 'burb Apple Valley.

Eddie -- Can you give us the town? I spent a lot of time in Alabama over the years -- I may have been there before! Have you been to Blue Angel's Guitars in Pensacola? Thanks John OK I just went to Alabama and here is the phone number and address of that shop. Sorry I didn't get any pictures I for got my camera The Owners Name is Don Mur Doch Highland Music. Inc. 3000 Clairmont Ave. Birmingham,Alabama 35205 Phone is (205) 245-3288 He has a lot of Fender vintage stuff. I was looking at some champ amps and deluxe amps he has that dated back to the 50's and even has some guitars. He said that if any on you have bough any vintage stuff you most likely got them from him. He said his shop is vary well known. Looks like a hole in the wall from the out side but vary cool on the inside. I think he a little pricey but it's like the old saying cash talks and everything else talks. I told him I would post his name and number on here he told me that would be cool!

I have no favorite guitar shop. THere are only like 3 in all of NM. 1 is a guitar Center, and I hate all guitar centers. The other is a locally owned business, and they are insane. They all claim to have hte lowest prices, but they all are the same as online prices, which are ridiculous. There is also one place that buys and sells, but ive never been there.

But back then there was some cool music stores. Back then you could buy a guitar and get the case, strap, cable, and a hand full of picks with the buy. Now they don't give you anything! This one I went too back then even stocked parts form pick guards to body's and necks and everything in between. Boy I miss all that! Now in days it's all about the money. Heck I remember back then too if you bought a guitar form a store if you had it 2 or 3 years and started having problems with it you could take back to them and they would fix it for free! Try and do that today!

Yeah don't get me on the pawn shop thing! I remember that too! So many think that because Jo blow on eBay can get a high price they think they can too! Same with cars people think because they saw a car on TV sell for 100,000 to 500,000 they think there car is worth that to. I don't know but seems like everything has gotten out of hand. You can't even go to a car dealer and make a deal they laugh at you now if you try and make a deal with them even in to days market. I also remember when cash in hand met something but not any more...

There's a chain of guitar stores called Music-Go-Round. There's one in Louisville I used to get the craziest deals out of. They take in so much used gear, and actually give you decent money, Better than a pawn shop. But as of a few years ago when go up to the counter with something you dug out of the back, they say,"Lemme check the internet to see what it's worth." !?!?! Oh well.
I used to have one of those Supro amps, pretty nice. I've sold some doozies too, sigh.

I loved that amp, I don't even know what model it was, all I can remember is it WASN"T the"PAGE" amp. I think it was between 5 to 15 watts (wasn't loud even cranked) with a 10" (I think) speaker. Bass, Mid, Treb, Vol. That's all I can remember.. OH! It was RED! What IS soaked firmly in my skull is it was Mellow, Fat, Round, and every guitar I had sustained for days through it. I MISS that amp so bad. I can't believe I sold that to get money for a Marshall just to get into high school hair metal band. . I'll NEVER have another amp like it to push HUGE blues bends on. . I think I'll go cry again. .

There's hope. I've got a Kalamazoo 10 or 15 watter that has about the same tone and sounds incredible with a Big Muff pushing it. Has that very controlable feeback. They can't give those things away on eBay. I spent more on mine retubing it than it's eBay value. A couple weeks ago I almost electricuted myself with that amp. Playing guitar then I touched my bandsaw,,YEEEOUCH!!! Thinking about buying a new speaker for it from CEdist. THe speaker in it has a tear, buy think it sounds cool.

The Music-Go-Round we had here went out of business in 2001. Right before they closed, I went there with my Vox Cambridge Twin in hopes of trading up. Dude took it in an even trade for an ART Rulesbreaker combo... fully programmable amp with pedalboard! He was losing his job, and didn't care what kind of deals he was making, plus he remembered me from a few months before when I was there jamming with him on some Montrose songs.
I miss that store. Seven years later, they still have the sign up. Go figure.....

That Kalamazoo sounds cool, but you've mentioned it on the net, tomorrow they'll going for a grand. . More like somebody will find out Elmore James or Lightnin' Hopkins jammed thru an amp of that brand, THEN your looking 5k. I love vintage stuff, but vintage buffs are nuts. I wouldn't pay 5k for Leo's 1954 '001 STRAT, I think things like that need to be in the Smithsonian if it's that rare and valuable. Then everyone could enjoy. The only time I forgive ridiculous prices is if it's a charity auction, and still then I think the winner should donate it for public enjoyment. . But that's just me I'm a poor dumb redneck! .

You know what I find funny about guitars and cars is that it's just stuff.
Everything that is made was made to be used. When I built cars I build them to drive not to be babied and put on trailers or to have someone else do the work to them and get the attitude of how much money I spent on building it and not even turn a screw driver on it.
Same with guitars just because someone famous owned it does not make it a grate guitar! It is still wood and metal. The guitars where meant to be played no mater how old it is or who owned or owns it!
I'm sorry but 25,000 for an EVH copy is not worth it to me or any other guitar out there. But I guess if someone has a guitar that is worth 500,000 and there is someone out there that wants to buy it then so be it. But that guitars was built to be played!
In the end it will all go up in smoke! So enjoy it while you have it!

I was on some site and saw Gibson LPs, the Jimmy Page sig ones. And they were going for 10k. Well ole Jimmy stops by and plays a few of them and signs them for real and they go 100k. You guys can have any of my guitars that I've touched the entire time I'm building them, well lets negotiate. d
