Me and iMovie

Well it's been about 2 months since I got the iMac 2 Min. I have to say I am well pleased with it. Since I got it, I may have opened up my laptop twice.

 Any way, I have really fallen for the iMovie program. I have been learning a lot in how to use it. I hope to start a lot of what I have been learning into my videos. Well, I guess some of it I have.

 Today, I learned how to split the sound from a video and save the sound and delete the video part so that I can use the soundtrack in another video or to add the sound to a video I am making.

 So, what is cool about that I can now make my own sound videos and remover the video and save the soundtrack.

 I may start going through all my videos and see what videos I have with music I did in them, that is with me doing my own music, and putting that in my up-and-coming videos. I think it would be so nice to have my builds and some of my music in the videos and try to get away from using other soundtracks.

 Well, I am having fun in making the videos. I don't know if you all can tell how much work I have put into them. I am doing a lot of editing to them. More than I thought I would ever do. LOL!

 Well, It may be a little while before the next video. Not feeling too well, So going to take some time off until I get to feeling better.

iMovie is one of the easiest editors I've used. It is what I use currently and I don't plan on changing.

Eddie, I cut so much stuff out in the editing process. From changing the camera angle to cutting out myself saying the same word 20 times. "SO"

Glad you're having fun with it. It becomes work soon enough.

I have edited my repeated words as well. The last video I cut like 20 to 25 mins of stuff. The hard part is making the transitions look as smooth as I can. Getting better at that.

 Like making guitars, I am trying not to do the same thing over and over again. But it is so easy to fall into that. There are time I am in a hurry and will do videos as fast as I can. LOL! Yep, like when I started making guitars. Everything in a hurry!

 Going to try and not let it become work. I think at this point there is noting I can do to get more hits anyway.

   That one lady I was talking about has only 6 videos up, and she already has like 1.8k subs and no she is not dressed like a hooker. She low-key, but well-spoken.

  But I think she has someone that does a lot of her editing. She also has more than one cam to do the videos with.

 I was also watching other guitar videos and most of them have more than one cam, and they too look like they have help with the editing.

  I can't and won't ever be able to compete with that kind of video making.

 

I did use Adobe to make my Logos. But they keep on bugging to buy their premium software.

 I have also been learning how to use keynotes. That too is a fun thing to know how to use.

This past week, as well, I have been looking at sound effects. Looks like a lot of fun.

 Well, there is so much to learn. But in it all, I am going to keep on doing videos the way I want to do them. YT keeps sending me emails in how to grow my channels. But, I have tried some of their suggestions, but so far none of it seems to work. At least not for me, they don't.

 I am at some point soon going to start adding in my own music. I'll be working on that more.

The guitar on your demo videos is always very decent Eddie. I can foresee how you could hone and really nail something and then use it as your signature background music. That way, no take down claims.

Here before long I'll post a video of with me playing my music. I'll see how long it will take before someone tries to lay claim on it. I have many videos of the music I created. A lot of them I have been playing for many years, and I do have proof of me playing most of what I have played in my videos. Some things I do I was doing back in the 70s.

 But like so many things, someone will say they did it first.

Do you all remember that guy I had to report to FB because he stole one of my guitar builds and was saying he made the guitar?

 The thing that got that guy kicked off of FB was that I had all the pictures of me building the guitar. The guy that stole my pictures off of FB did not have all the pictures of my guitar. Plus, in his pictures, he left the name Eagle Blues on the neck and head stock. LOL, that was a dead give away who really made the guitar.

 I don't know, but if things get too tough on me, I will stop making videos and pretty much stop any posting of anything.

 So tired to trying to figure it all out. This stuff is supposed to be fun. I guess it is as long as you pay someone to let you have the fun!

 Ever watch movies or a TV show that someone is having fun, then, Someone else comes along a takes the fun out of it?

This is how I feel most of the time. I'll be having a good day, then BAM! Someone or something just has to mess up my day!

 This is why I left FB, I was so tired of people going on and on at me because I have an opinion to what they are posting. I am not one that can look the other way and say everything is cool when It's not!

 Well, anyway, YT for the most part has been somewhat fun for me. I only wish that YT would leave things to where it could be even more fun. There are too many on there that are waiting to take the fun away by putting claims on the videos they did not make. Or some using other creators videos for their own agenda.

 I feel like at times making a video and keeping it all monotone. LOL! Hum... Maybe just maybe I'll do just that! LOL!

Well, well, well,

 I looked up some stuff about music and YT. WOW, have we all been told a bunch of lies!

 Now, as far as I can find out. There are websites one can go to and pay like $9.00 a month and there are thousands of songs one can use on YT and YT can't do anything about it.

 There is also another website that lets one use a lot of top name music off the website as long as you put a link in the description of the website.

 Then, if you use your own music on YT, as long as it is not copyrighted on another website, you can't use it. You have to have the clearance from you and the website. Or the label that the music is published from.

 So, if I put my music in my videos and I have not published them under a label, I can use my own music. But that does not mean someone can't say that my music is theirs and cause me some problems.

 But all in all, I can use what I do as my music on YT. The big issue in any of this is, if I was to monetize. But I don't think I need to worry about that. Not looking to monetize.

 I have given it a lot of thought. Once I get to the neck through and get it done, it will be my last scratch build I ever do.

Like I have said, I have some project guitars I need to get to this summer. It may not be until after Dec. before I get to the neck though guitar. Unless I put off all my other projects until then.

 I expect that 2024 will be the last year of me doing things with guitars. Little by little, I'm loosing my ability to do things. Even getting harder for me to play guitar.

 Unless my health takes a huge turn for the better in the next year, this is where I am headed.

 So for me, I am at the point I really don't care what YT does to me or my channels as far as the music goes. I am going to do what I'm doing until I have to stop. Not because of some silly thing like copyright or someone thinking they have a right over my videos.

 There is one guy I found that says he is in contact with YT and working in trying to change the way that people are putting claims on videos. He, too, thinks it is not fair that people can put a claim on videos and make money on them without paying the maker of the video. Even if they are not monetized. It was good to see that I am not the only one that thinks that way.

I used to use an outside source for music in my videos. Where all you had to do was list give credit to the maker. And it was fine never a problem. But when my my Dell crashed and I got the MacBook and stated using iMovie again I just use the music in iMovie. I did however have a claim on one of the tracks from the iMove catalog. Which is weird< right. I just cut it out. I can't remember which track it was so I might end up using it again. Ha!

I found that if I use the iMovie app on my phone, I get a lot of claims put on my videos. But since I have been using the music you can get from YT no hit on the music as if yet.
