I drafted one of my typical rambling responses that was not appropriate to John's thread, so let's just say that your fiscal experience and timeframe exactly mirrors my own. Steve -- I think it was wholly appropriate based on the subject matter! Trying to free up enough disposable income to buy into the "guitar collecting world" can be tough. I know a lot of the folks frequenting the vintage guitar shows and shop around Nashville are not full-time, working musicians. I have some colleagues who refer to the new mega-buck Gibson Custom Shop Les Pauls as either "Lawyer Bursts" or "Doctor Bursts"! At the end of the day, I believe most of the guitars at the show are vanity items and are not the bread-and-butter guitars working musicians play to earn their keep. Maybe it is my frame of reference....I still remeber being able to get a hamburger meal for five bucks and getting change back! John
