Got to thinking of a few other amps I had.
I had one called Hot rod deluxe. I can't remember who made it. It was not a Fender. It was a cool hand wired amp. It had padding on it, kind like an old Kustom amp.
It was one that I was going to keep. But someone made me an offer for it and a guitar I had at the time. It was the only one I ever had. To this day I have seen another one.
I also like the Peavey classic 30 amps. A lot of amp in a small package. 30 watt, one 12" speaker. I had a lot of them. I modded a few. I wish I had held on to one of the ones I modded. They are great for the money.
I also like the Fender Blues Deluxe amps. Had a few of them. Again, the one I wish I would have kept is the one I modded. That amp was one of the best amps I had ever owned. But I needed money and it sold right away. Got like $600 for that amp. Yep it sounded that good! Was Going to do another one, but I have not come across another Blues deluxe amp in a long while.
Roland JC 120. Bought new in the mid 80s. I had that amp for a lot of years. It was my first combo amp. The amp was great. Used it a lot. Did a lot of concerts and was on TV with me. I used pedals with it and it preformed great! I sold it out right for like $700 about 7 years ago. The guy that bought it wanted for his studio. I got to hear some recordings that the amp was used on. WOW! What a great amp it was.
One of my other favorite amps was the Peavey classic 50. I had 3 of them. The last one was awesome. With the 4 10's and 50 watts, it was great to play through.
I also had the one that had the 2 12" speakers. I had it for a long while and wound up selling it to a friend of mine. He still owns the amp to this day. It, too, was a good sounding amp. But I miss the 4 10 one.
Fender twin. Had a few of them as well. As much as I liked them, they were too heavy to gig with. So I would get them, use them, then sell them. But I always loved them.
This why when the tone master came out I had to have one. The tone master I got in the blond is awesome! It is so close to the Fender twin, I think that most would not be able to tell them apart sound wise. There will be a video on that amp coming up soon.
The other amps I like a lot are the Behringer tube amps. A lot of bang for the buck! The 25 watt one is cool! I had 2 of them. Same thing, people would come by the house, hear them and on out the door they would go. I would own another hands down. In these amps, you could change the output tubes from a 6L6 to EL34s. And you didn't have to reset the bias on it. They also had a cool sounding over drive I liked.
I also had some that I did not like. I had a lot of solid state amps that I pretty much got rid of them as fast as I could.
I didn't care for the Crate amps. I had some of the tube amps as well as the solid state ones. To me, they never sounded all that good. The last 2 tubes amps I had were sold to a crate amp collector. He loved the amps. To me, they are a harsh sounding amp. I never like the sound of them. I had a lot of them over the years. A lot of times I would end up with as trade-ins.
Did have a few Ibanez solid state amps. They were OK. I had one that someone gave me. It was nonworking. The little filter caps when bad on it. It was an easy fix. It was a good amp for someone starting out. It did sound good. That is what sold the amp plus I sold it cheap.
I had some that I took apart and used the cabs for speaker cabs and junked out the rest. A lot of them were off brands and I could turn them into speaker cab and get more for them as extension speakers. I did that often. Funny how that would work out. I could not get anything for them as amps. But I could get a couple of hundred as speaker cabs with speakers in them. I have one right now I may end up doing that with. It has a 10" Jensen speaker in it. I was going to use it to make a champ amp out of. But I don't know if I want to or not. I may look and see what I need to do that. It would be a nice change of pace to make another amp. LOL!
I know there are some I have forgotten. But as you all can see, I have had a lot of amps. A lot of them I got out of me chasing tone, and I loved to work on them. I would get nonworking tube amps to see If I could fix them. I fixed them all. I learned a lot by fixing them. Surprising how much you can do with a meter to test things with. LOL!
