Here is something I need some help in.
I want so much to go out to the shop and do some work on some of my future guitar builds. But it is hot and humid in the shop.
In a few more weeks, things should get down to where I can go back out to the shop and pickup where I left off or where I was getting started.
I can't work in the heat like I once could. For some reason, I can no longer tolerate the heat. Once overheated, I am no good for the rest of the day or for a couple of days after, depending on how overheated I got. Must have something to do with my brain stuff.
So other than a swamp cooler to help cool things off, is there another inexpensive way to cool the shop? I have a huge shop fan, but all it does is push hot air. Or do I wait on the weather to change?
The last two weeks have not been good ones for me. But, I'm about to go nuts with not much to do. I think the people on FB are getting tired of me posting things on there. I really don't have anything to work on as far as guitars go. I could order some new pickups I guess and change out some on the guitars I do have. But, they all are really OK for now.
I miss building. I need to build another guitar. If I had the money, I would buy some wood to build an acoustic guitar. I so want to make an acoustic guitar.
Yep, as you can see, I am bored out of my gourd. LOL!

Well you could wait it out of course but like you said you are bored out of your mind. I've seen the beginnings of adds on YouTube for home made cheap AC units of some sort. I always click off of those things so I'm not sure it's what you need. But if you do YT search cheap AC you might find something you can make they might help out.

How about running with the notion that you maybe are at the planning stage of an acoustic and start to draw up full scale plans of your ideas. This you can do in a more amenable controlled climate indoors and away from woodshedding. You could also source some machine heads (or tuners if you will) and some bone and so on, you know- the kind of stuff that'll hold you up because you'll be waiting for them later on.
So- Slot head or "paddle"? "F" holes or round hole? Cutaway (Venetian or Florentine?) or non cutaway? Bound fretboard or plain? "12 fret" or "14 fret"? I know that I have spent incalculable hours going over "what ifs" with my radio related projects, and similarly when I was headlong into re-wiring a fair number of my guitars. It's time well spent and you always learn new things. Well I do anyway.

Yes, The acoustic is still in my thinking stage. LOL It will take some time before it goes through my brain onto paper. But that is something I could be doing.
As far as the shop goes, I think I'll wait on the weather to change. It is starting to get there. Low 90's yesterday. Supposed to be dropping some more in the neck week or two. Still humid but even it's not as bad as it had been.
So I may get out some paper and see what I can come up with. I don't know how soon I can afford the wood. Everything has gone up so much.
