John,
I sent you a PM to discuss your offer.
To everyone who helped me along the way, a big Thanks. Tonight I got to spend some time playing it and I've got to say that I loved it. It sounded great unplugged, while I was watching some TV and it sounded decent plugged into my Pod X3 Live. I'll probably be getting some new pickups in the near future for her as well.
I'm so glad I found this website and the Saga guitars. I've wanter to build a guitar for quite a while and now I've done it.
Later, Andy

Andy, the Fender tuners don't use an extra screw, the have 2 mounting pins that locate into holes to keep them steady. it is possible that they will cover your existing holes. The only tuners I have seen like yours are these Gotoh's. If you want to give mine a try I'd be happy to send them over and let you take a look and see how they fit. Here is the link to the Gotoh's www.stewmac.com/shop/Tuners/Guitar,_solid_peghead_tuners/Gotoh_Locking_Vintage_Oval_Knob_Tuners.html John

Great job, Andy. It really looks great, and is really true to the photo you used as your vision.
OK...what are you building next?
Thanks for the great posts, John

I agree, a Tele would be a nice choice.
I have a T-60, also. Except for the incredible weight, I love it!

Definitely go for a Tele there Andy. You can never have too many guitars!

It seems that the only guitar missing is a Tele............ I have a killer black Saga T-style in my personal gig arsenal. It has been heavily modified, but I really like the way it plays. My vote is for the Tele. John

The wiring was not clear - the instructions said there should be blue, white and black wires to connect together. But I had 2 black wires (1 from the input jack and 1 from the trem claw). I think I worked it out. I'll see tonight. The wiring on my Saga strat sounds like it is the same as yours. I take it yours is working okay? I really hope mine works! I should know by the end of this week and I'll post some pics. Great looking strat by the way. -Keef

guys I learned a couple of lessons the hard way over the last few days. Lesson 1: I should have found a way to hang the guitar so that it doesn't touch anything when I paint it. In some of my previous posts showing the priming / painting you might have noticed that the guitar was laying down in the Saga box. This is how I was painting it - I would put the body on top of a small cardboard box and put it in the Saga box, then I painted / primed one side. After a few days I would turn it over and paint / prime the other side. Well, at some point some of the silver paint on the body stuck to the cardboard box and messed up the body in a spot about the size of dime. I have since rigged up a way to hang the body from the ceiling of my garage while painting it, so this can't happen again. Lesson 2: DON'T EVER TOUCH THE WET PAINT. while fixing the problem from lesson 1, I screwed up and touched some of the wet paint, and I ended up pulling off some of the paint with my hand accidentally. So then I had 2 problem areas to fix. Both of these mistakes were because of my being lazy and not hanging the guitar properly. If you're reading this and have NOT painted a guitar body yet, don't make the same mistakes as me. anyway, I'm going to finish putting the clear on today. So next week I'll get to see her shine. Andy Andy, I'm no expert by any means (just finished my first build with a few squirts of off-the-shelf Rust-Oleum enamel) and to hang the body I just used a clamp in the routed out area where the neck attaches. So under the bottom neck plate there is a bare spot where the clamp was on the wood. The instructions included with my kit seemed to show a hole through that area for a wire coat hanger, straightened out, to hook through. I may consider this if I do another build. Maybe 1/4 inch diameter.
