Very cool, Eddie -- Here is a sound clip of the pickup. Tone 1 is full humbucking mode. Tone 2 is a simple coil split. Tone 3 is the Plus mode, which sounds more Strat-like. You can really tell the difference on the D and A chords. Should have it out to you next week. soundcloud.com/guitarattack/attackbucker-testThanks John

Eddie, the heel blended into the body is what I love about neck thrus. Looks very good. Bummer about the slip. As Rosanna Rosannadana would say "es ajlwaes sumtin".
John, great sounding pup. You the man.

sounds awesome! thanks John.
HA!HA! that is when Saturday night live was the best....
Well, seems stuff happens once in a while. Most of the time I can figure out a fix. Still wondering if I'm going to mess with it or not. I have some time to think about it, still have a long ways to go. I figure it will take me another 2 to 3 days to get the neck where i want it. After today I really put myself in the hurt! So I'm going to take tomorrow off from working on it, to give me some time to heal up.
We will see how far i get next week...

Well, I did indeed take the day off from working on this project. As you all know I had John make me a pair of pickups for this build. Just got word he will be sending them out to me this week. I am so excited!!! Custom built pickups...WOW!!! How cool is that? I can't wait to hear them in my new build... I am liking this guitar before she is done. I still need to get some nice tuners for her... I have a black bridge, but i am thinking of getting chrome or nickle plated bridge and tuners. Wish I could find some black chrome stuff. But it's a little hard to find.
So I should be back on this tomorrow. Hope to get some more work done on the neck, and maybe some sanding on the body. Once I get all the holes drilled for the bridge and tuners and the pots and switch. Then I'll get the finish sanding done and star the Tung Oil. It will take about 5 to 7 day to apply all the tun oil on this project. It really depends on how shinny I want it to be... I am leaning to a satin finish. on this one. If I do it won't take as long, maybe 3 to 5 days to put on the tung oil.
It's hard to believe she is getting that close to being done.
I am excited over this build. All in all she is coming together pretty good. Oh I know I say that about all my builds, but it seems every time I build a guitar there is something special about each one. But I have 4 guitars I have built that just came out great! Or they speak to me in ways some of the builds have not.
I guess you get my point...HA!

This is all really great. It seemed to come out of nowhere with discussion surrounding the spark of an idea. (neck-through) Personally I love double-cuts, but that in no way detracts from this beauty. Nickel rules Eddie- You know it makes sense... ;<D Also, if you can stretch to it- Sperzel locking machine heads. American engineering at its best! I know there are Schallers and Gotoh too, but Sperzels are way cool. Zero backlash and switch a string on stage in 15 seconds!

Yeah, antares, ever since I built the "Rose" she is an LP neck through too, I have wanted a neck through LP. In the start I wanted to paint this white. Because I always wanted a white LP as well. But now She is going to stay with the natural wood colors. The tung oil will darken she some and seh will end up with a gold look to her. But should look cool!
Seems it's hard for me to get away from LP's and Teles..I'm a lost cause. HA!
Thanks for the comp's! EB

Sorry about no post on this in the few days... Haven't been feeling too good. (My neck) So once again I don't know when I'll get back on this build. But as soon as I can I will be updating.

Yeah, I'm a fan of Sperzel tuners! Build looks awesome. I like how it transformed from a white LP.

I got to do some work on this today. so here she as she looks now. I put a thin coat of tung oil on... I just had to see how she would look. On this side view you can see the thin maple I put in be tween the fret board and the neck. The back of the guitar. Wouldn't you know it there is a little bit of spalted maple in the peg head. So yes the neck is done. It's as thin as it's going to be. So the next thing is to drill out all the holes for the pots, switch, input jack, bridge and the tuners. I will wait on drilling the hole for the tuners. I just ordered them yesterday. So it will take them some time to get here. EB

Hey, it's not white. It's looking amazing, though! Even the headstock, and it's rare anyone makes an attractive headstock. Or I'm just weird about it. If I had money (and talent) I'd be begging for a copy of this right now.
