yeah, even back in the day when I was building hot rods. If you didn't have a name, you just didn't always get to have your car in a mag. It would happen for some, but the ones that did get their car in a mag, was more times than not, meant you knew someone. I had some cars that were better then some of the one you would see in a mag. But never got to see them in it. So I think it's that way in the guitar world. It like that old saying. You have to know someone that knows someone. HA! But still it would have been cool to see this one or anyone's in a mag. Maybe Guitar Attack needs to start a guitar mag. That would be super cool. I know we are in the digital age. But to me there is nothing like turning a page and seeing the picture in your hand or to read something on a page. EB

Funny you should mention hot rod mags, I had a 30 model A with a small block Chevy engine. It was in a mag after I sold it and they were doing a make over on it. But they miss represented the running gear so all they had to do for the upgrade was to name it correctly. After that I never bought another rodding mag.

Well, I am giving an update on this guitar. After all the years since this guitar was built, she is still doing great! Right now she is being stored away, due to waiting on our last move. We have moved from AZ back to FL. We should be in our new home by the end of the month (June) But before we moved from AZ I got the guitar out and played her. She still sings great and plays great! The finish still looks great!
Once again you all will never know the full impact of this build hads given me in my life!
Thanks again to all the people that made this build possible and a Big Thanks to Guitar Attack!

Hey all! I finally made a video of the Guitar Attack guitar. It on my Facebook Page called Ed's guitars.
I am sorry that there are no pictures on here of the build any more. What happened I got rid of my photo bucket account and I didn't realize it until it was too late that all of my pictures went with it. The pictures that were on here was posted long before the forum changed the way we post pictures.
You should be able to see the video on Face Book. I have it set for public. If you have any problems viewing the video please let me know. Thanks!
Now please remember I did this on my phone in a small room. I don't have anything to hold my phone. There are black outs on the video but the sound is there. The black outs are from me laying my phone down. LOL!
Hope you enjoy the video. The guitar means a lot to me.

That's great Eddie. I (thought I had) posted on FacePage that I had incorrectly thought the Guitar Attack Guitar was a project guitar organised by GuitarAttack, maybe as a promotion? and that others had built it too? Show's how wrong you can be when you make assumptions. It sounds really good and that's the best look at it I've had to date. I can now understand why you're so proud of it.

Show's how wrong you can be when you make assumptions. It sounds really good and that's the best look at it I've had to date. I can now understand why you're so proud of it. e&oe ...it really was a collaboration of a lot of people. There was some that didn't get their name on the guitar. I put the names of people on it that sent me the items to do the build. But there were some that challenged me to come up with something.
So I took a lot of the ideas and came up with the design. For me it was a no brainer to call the guitar Guitar Attack.Once I got the OK from John to put the name on the guitar I decided on the colors. On of the guys made the decal.
It was job from the beginning to make the guitar. We all went through (those that were involved at that time) with designs. We all agreed on the design you see now. I even sent John a template of the body after it was all done. He now has the only template of this guitar. It is a one of kind guitar. I did make a few others guitars with that body but they were a set neck and a neck through. They are now long gone. I do have one left that I never finished building. I might get it out and finish it. The only thing it has in common with the Guitar Attack guitar is the body shape.
I could not have done the GA Guitar without all the support I had gotten form all the cool people and now friends.
Again, this was during a time in my life when nothing seemed to be going right. But all these people that I had never met, but here on Guitar Attack, came together over an idea that someone else had and they all made my world a little bit better. My wife could not believe how the people of GA had responded.
I had a big responsibility to all these fine and great people to pull this off. I wanted to build a guitar to show my appreciation and gratitude for what they all had done for me. I have to say it was a turning point in my life.
No one will ever really know what they and this guitar means to me. It's more than just another guitar.
If John had a guitar museum, I would make sure it would end up there before I leave this world.
But I have a feeling it will be buried with me and my 71 LP. LOL!

That was a cool project Eddie. Very great group of people have been involved on this site over the years. I wonder what happened to them all? I know I miss seeing them. I was thinking of Cris the other day, from Canada. That got me to thinking of all of the others that had been on here.
I did order a stand for my iPhone. So maybe that will help some in my recordings. I hope it does. Also I think I may have talked my wife in helping out. I have a fun project coming up and I am going to see if she can video me as I do the work. Should change things up a little on my You Tube channel.
Not to many people seem all that interested in my videos. But, I'll keep at it for a while longer. I didn't want my channel to be another build channel. So, many of them right now. Hey Dane, what is going on with your entry to the Great guitar build off? I haven't see much on it.
Well, things are always changing. I also hope that my plug for Guitar Attack will help get some people to come here and check things out.

With increased visibility comes an elevated level of monitoring and responses Eddie. Sometimes the devil is in the detail. I inherited "admin" on another Forum and the originator has now sadly passed. It's a small time outfit that makes GuitarAttack look like Times Square! I get the occasional query or request and I cannot but help to notice the time it takes to assist (or even just attempt to assist.) At the moment, a young girl (I think- you never know from a user name and avatar) is currently clamouring for admin rights so that (s)he can spray bling all over the forum (including (perish the thought) an on-screen clock, automatic referrals to FacePage, LinkedIn and Twatter et al. I am trying to drag my heels without being curt or dismissive because I feel responsible for the originator's creation and he's not here to canvass. I suspect John would recognise some of these sentiments, and Dane would definitely concur regarding the time spent monitoring, reading and replying to YouTube comments, even the less than salubrious ones!
When you get your iPhone stand, there may be an improvement with respect to the visual light fluttering caused by the ceiling fan. That's all though because the audio is very good in my experience. So far as your FacePage channel goes- I avoid FP as far as possible, so I have to make a special effort to view your videos on that platform. It's not a biggie deal but it's a fact. FacePage gives with one hand but exacts a healthy cost with the other. A veritable viper's pit.
That said, I like your relaxed presentation style Eddie, and Best Beloved said "He seems like a nice man!" so you're doing things well in my view.

But it gets so warm in the room when the tube amp is on. It also has a hum to it. But along with outside noise, it's a wonder it sounds as good as it does. LOL! Then the conditioner kicks in or the phone I am using will ring. Then I have to start all over when that happens. Stuff you never think of until you do something.
Yes I hope the stand will do a lot for the recordings. One thing I'm looking forwarded to is not having to figure out a good way to support the iPhone. HA! sometimes that's a game in itself.
I have been accused of being relaxed or lay back. Some people think at times I am to much so. I started playing at the age of 9. I am now 67. I have seen people that would get so upset over stupid things to the point that they would through their instrument on the stage and walk off. I use to do that too, when I was young. But one day it hit me... What the heck am I getting so upset over? Form that point on I have taken a lay back attitude. By this time in life I have played well over a million notes. Played thousands of songs. Played music with so many people. Loosing your temper does not gain you one thing.
Tell your better half I said thanks!
On making videos... I see a lot of videos these days that are done like a pro did the editing. Sometimes It's good to see a well put together video. But I think on mine I would like to keep them simple. This is one reason I don't know if I want to get into showing how I build guitars. Some of the people on YT have like 4 cams and they have someone doing the editing. This is not me. But that's not to say I wont try and do one. I can't figure out how to splice videos together. So it may be a while before I do a build video.
