Hi and welcome to the Guitar Attack parts build. This build is going to a lot of fun. This build started out as a build from the people here on Guitar Attack. I was out of parts to build any guitars. Oh I had some wood for my neck through and a little wood for another neck but no parts. So I was challenged by a few to build a guitar out of parts they would send me. I thought HOW COOL IS THAT! One of the fist things I got was the neck. Then other parts started coming in. My thoughts were OK now I have to build a cool guitar. As many as you know I like classic lines, so from another challenge from one the guys, he wanted me to come up with something were you take a Gibson and Fender and fuse them together so that is how I came up with the shape I am going to use fro this build. Then I was challenged again to come up with something for the head stock so I came up with this...

Haha sorry for the "challenege" Eddie but I knew you would like the idea and I think everyone else will like it too! I'm still really excited for this build Eddie! Looking forward to seeing the body cut!

So today I started on the head stock. I'm waiting for wood for the body. It's due to be coming soon! I cut the head stock out on my band saw, then used my new files and sand paper to get the shape you see. I think it came out cool looking! I have the body template cut waiting on the body wood. The picture shows two templates. The one on the right is the Guitar Attack guitar. Well that's the start of it. There are some exciting things planed for this build so keep checking in to see what's next!

Jut a note; I did clear the putting the name Guitar Attack on the guitar with John Williams. I thought since you all are sending me the parts that I would dedicate this build to Guitar Attack. I waned to put all your autographs on it but not everyone is sending them to me.So I am going to see I can just print out the names of the people that sent in parts for this build and put the names on the back of the guitar.

That headstock looks great Eddie! I think it came out better than the drawing actually!!! It looks really really good though! Be sure to keep that template on hand! I may want to buy it from you.
Also, I really do plan to get some parts your way very soon! Could you make another list of what you would like/need?
I plan on sending some capacitors and if you need screws of any kind, I have plenty on hand from different things. Anything else you need though? I have some knobs I am not using so, I might just send them your way. You can decide to use them or not!

Yes I still need knobs, string trees, strap pegs, I wont really know what else till I get closer to getting everything to where I can see what's going on it. I am sure I wont be able to put all the parts on I get. But I would say that 98% of them will be used. But of course if I can use them all I will. You just never know...

Ok sounds great! I also have a set of strap pegs from a strat but I might buy another set that have a little lower profile for you. I don't have any string trees on hand but I might order some with my other parts.
I hope to get these out to you soon! I don't have my own credit card so I have to rely on using my folks' card to order online!

Yes that is my plan. Just before I do the clear on it. I'll see what I can do or maybe get someone to make the decal for me.

Hey Eagleblues, what rating of capacitors were you thinking for this build? Let me know and I will look around in town to buy some.

Hey Eagleblues, what rating of capacitors were you thinking for this build? Let me know and I will look around in town to buy some. I would say anything from an 033 to 047. I like the 033's for combo pickups. Like putting a humbucker with a single coil.

Ok I will see what I can do. I know you like those .033 but I didn't know with those P-90's in there. I think a .047 might work to tame the 90's but I'm afraid it might mud up the humbucker when you combine both coils!

Yes I would go with the 047 but like you said the humbucker would be too dark. I have found with an 033 to an 037 work really well. The thing is you can always role off the high side if need be. But I do like the tone of a single coil on the 033. It's kind of middle of the road as far as tone caps go. It gives the single a really cool tone. But that's what I like and have found to work the best for , like I said for using humbuckers with single coils.
