OK I'll try a second time... Dane glad you made with the neck going through the body. So many people don't. I like cigar box guitars, the are fun to play, and people like them a lot.
I too use wood that is laying around the shop. But once in a while I make a trip to the old Home Depot and get some wood to build these with. I'll be making a few more this summer, "I hope" I sell them on Face Book. The lase ones I did sold fast on there. But I think making a video to show how they sound helped.
Great job, hope to see more. EB

Hey Eddie, since you've sold some of these, what's a reasonable expectation of cost on these? I mean of course that will vary with how extreme one goes with neck carve and frets and electronics and all but maybe a low and high ball park.

Good videos Dane. You seem to do the soldering much the same as I do, especially that iron rolling technique on the back of the pots!
One thing I do is to use lumps of Plasticene to hold the wires in place a little way from the tinned ends of the leads while I solder. I haven't had a single dry joint since I started doing that and it just pulls off without leaving a trace. I got the idea from work where we put a tiny bit in a Philips screw head so it holds on to the driver leaving the other hand free.
