Just to re-hash the situation....Last December in my 85th year I had a stroke, it left me (among other things) with a right hand devoid of any movement. My main passion was playing jazz on my guitar and keyboard. By late January I had managed to regain some finger strength and movement and it dawned on me that guitar playing might be possible again. At this time I was unable to even depress a note on the keyboard and just strumming the guitar was impossible.
I developed a whole series of hand and arm exercises to improve the situation and by February the worst problem with guitar playing was managing to hold the plectrum which would drop out of my grasp after five seconds. I developed a whole range of plectrum holding devices, some of which worked to a small degree and enabled me to start re-learning how to play. By late march I could hold the plectrum for a couple of minutes but heavy rhythm playing was beyond me.
Last week the answer dawned on me, I needed the glue used by manufacturers of sticking plasters on my plectrums. This would hold them in place but be removable afterwards. Now started a search for this glue. Google let me down, finding all the info except the glue. Yesterday I temporarily solved it by pinching a plaster from the first aid kit, cutting it down and using superglue to secure the backing to the plectrum. Success! and I have enclosed a pix of two modified plectrums with protective non-stick silicone paper guards to protect them until they are to be used.
I am still in need of proper glue, so if anyone knows where I can obtain it.....
