This was part of the before mentioned attachment and like what Latestrummer mentioned. Hope this helps. reading through the articles in that forum made me quite embarrassed. Here I was seeking help for a problem that seemed quite minor in comparison with the permanent problems most of the contributors had.. Deigh

Here is my latest attempt to solve the weak thumb syndrome. Taking my largest pick I affixed the hook type of self adhesive velcro to both sides, just leaving the tip exposed. I then got a pair of Mchael Jackson type White gloves and applied the other velcro to both the first finger and the thumb.
This gives me the advantage of being able to relocate the pick if it is wrongly positioned and also having a easier to hold plectrum as my fingers get stronger. All this building of special picks has shown me that there is no real option to strengthening my finger, hand and wrist muscles. So I am using them only as a stopgap measure to keep my left hand agile.

Although I am still making special plectrums but have come to the conclusion that nothing will be as good as getting my fingers tough enough to hold a pick correctly. I have added a whole range of exercises and now have extended my pick holding time from 5 seconds to 5 minutes. Deigh

Just to let you all know that I am still working at modifying plectrums to make things easier, but have found that persistent exercising has paid off and I can now hold the plectrum (rather feebly!)for nearly a minute. A long way short of satisfactory but a move in the right direction. Deigh
