I have been using a 30W peavey vypyr for the last 2 years and while I am generally pleased, the digital wizardry occasionally crashes. after lots of investigation and reviews, I picked up the VIP2 (40W) on Sunday. I went from the store to a jam session and put it to work. One of the issues with the old amp was I would work up a program for the strat that would sound awful when I switched to a one of my humbucker based guitars. SO far, this is much less an issue. plus, the new model has some cool new effects like baritone guitar, bass guitar, acoustic models including 12 string, resonator and electric violin ... well some are more useful than others! my sanpera II controller pedal is at the band rehearsal space so this weekend I will get a chance to create and save some programs. I promise some sound samples are forthcoming now that I have USB output on the amp.

New gear is always exciting. Look forward to hearing it.
