All - I have been doing some work on my doubleneck and it looks like I may actually finish it this time. It is a 6/12 string electric with a body made of ash, cedar, black walnut, and stars of aspen in an American flag motif. Will be posting some photos,,,and yes, a doubleneck is about twice as hard to build! John Attachments:

I think I remember seeing that body on the website a long time ago! You must have projects like me, hiding in closets!
This'll be a killer guitar. My two favorite things: multiple necks and the American flag!

Looks very heavy. Neat that the strips and stars are glued up and not painted.

Chris - this has been a multi-year journey! Lol
Dane - it is pretty light...it is just a little thicker than an SG. My back can't take a heavy one!

I made four pickup rings for the guitar from some very flamey maple. Flame leads to better t_ne, right Eddie? Lol Yes, I finished them with nitro! John Attachments:

Good workmanship John. I think it was Eddie that suggested I make some P90 shims from wood but I cried off at the prospect! Steve.

Got some more work done on this build. I was dissatisfied with the ferrules on that pretty back so I made some flame maple inserts to countersink them. Here is a photo...lots of flame! I got the pickups loaded in the maple rings. There are three rewound/rebuilt Dimarzios and an original Ibanez V-2. Rock on! John Attachments:

That's a lot of strings. This is looking good and you'll be all set to play Stairway.

A beauty! Usually, I don't really go for double necks because they look so unweildy, but with the theme that you've got going on and the fact that it comes over as a guitar rather than an excess- I really like it. The body shape is appealing with the twin offset cutaways. From what I can see in the images it looks like the usual high standard of workmanship too. Good one John, there could be a market for this instrument.

Thanks, guys...really appreciate the kind words. I cranked it up this morning and it is really fun to play. While far from perfect, it turned out way better than I expected. I still have some finish work to do on the back, but it is time to get on with the next guitar. John Attachments:
