Hi,
I thoroughly regret modifying a weighty 1982 strat with a locking Kahler Spyder system. The action, sustain, general feel and setup was never the same despite several attempts to make it playable. The bodywork at the bridge was chopped back to apparently allow installation.
Has anyone ever restored a strat back to its original hard tail or trem system from a locking one ? Most probably.
just wondering if it's worth my while.
The repair person kept the original Fender trem system in 1988 as I was a teenager and didn't realise to ask for it back !!!!!
The strat is very heavy in weight compared to regular.
