I have a 60w crate amp, its 110v so i bought a 220v transformer to play it in my country. However, the amp produces alot of buzz especially on the overdrive channel I tried turning down my volume, and removing the jack, both worked, but when my jack is plugged in the amp and free from the other side the amp buzzes... So i figured out it might be from the jack.
I tried it on another amp, it worked perfectly with no buzz
Any help would be appreciated
PS i have a squier affinity strat First amp is a 60w crate amp Second amp is a 5w laney lr5

to me sounds like a conflict between the 210 adapter and the amp.
Do you have or can you buy a line bug? It is what plugs into the wall out let and help with line noise on electronics. I use them here in the USA. They really work well.(don't use a cheap one) The other amp do you have to use the adapter on it as well?

When we lived in Germany I had trouble with US-spec amps buzzing when using a voltage transformer.
Make sure you have a good ground on the amp and the transformer and turn off the fluorescent lights - if you can - when playing.
Also, it is a good idea to check the voltage coming out of the transformer. I had some putting out way too much voltage.

I'm not sure about this, it's just a thought. If we forget about the voltage difference for a minute and just think as if it were just plugged in "normal" 120V like here in the good old USA. I sometimes get a hum when the cord is only plugged into the amp and it stops when I plug into the guitar. I thought that was kind of normal, an open end incomplete open circuit making noise. Like a big antenna looking for interference. Another thing that I think is fairly common is more hum with OD or distortion kicked in. And yet another consideration might be more watts (60) making more noise then (5) watts.
Don't know, maybe I'm just bored.
As it was I almost posted about a new board I had givin to me. You guys have been to quiet. It might end up in a thread about a new guitar and new pups by John.

I think the board has some "forum fatigue" after the epic build posted by Eddie! Everybody is jumping around to different forums (fora?) -- thanks for sticking with us here. John

I meant a new piece of wood board not a new forum.
I do read another forum but I was on it before guitar attack and was "removed" for some reason I've never been able to figure out.

It's not just Guitar Attack. There are three other Proboards guitar related forums that I monitor. One really went into the boondocks with the admin repeatedly posting new topics and I always tried to add something to show support. Recently it has taken off again, but all three have suffered a downturn recently. There's another non guitar related forum that I read that is very well populated with contributors. That one went through the roof 4 weeks ago following the closure of a non Proboards forum, but even that one has died back somewhat to its former healthy state.. This forum is targeted specifically at guitar builders and relies heavily on luthiers sharing experiences. I feel a bit of an intruder, but you're all very friendly and so I keep watching. As I've written before, I'm not without manual skills, but timber strangling neatly is not my strong point! I fancy that you guys have got a nice little forum and growth in the form of traffic or punters would not necessarily be too beneficial. Perhaps I have the wrong end of the stick because Guitar Attack must at least be a vehicle to attract interest one way or the other. Just keep it up guys.
