you have been playing the wrong Teles stratpurist.... HA! Just messing with you.... I have found that there are some guitars that sound awesome when played by themselves, but in a band setting they lose something. then there are the guitar that don't sound good on their own, but sound awesome in a band. I can never figure this out.

Stratpurist is right though. The stratocaster is all that ,as far as an all round great design. It was definately ahead of its time when it first came out. But it all depends on the guitar and it's various parts, the amp, the players mood, etc. The only stratocaster I've liked for the past 20+ years has a tele neck shoved on it.
Dane, your build is pretty awesome.

The body contours on a Strat can be and often are used on Teles. I'm not much for talent levers when they go out of tune on bends and broken strings. Maybe not real noticeable on mine but I used the arm contour.
Thanks for the nice feed back guys.

Yeah that relief work around the neck joint is cool. It reminds me of the back of the Yamaha Pacifica 912, (I have the 904 but it's crying out for the relief work just like yours) but I'm sure there are many other examples. I really like the whole guitar. I always find "alternative takes" on famous headstocks uncomfortable too, so that ticks another box for me. This one's a cracker Dane. Steve.

I had a Yamaha Strat copy, that's where I borrowed the neck heel relief idea from. But that guitar with the Floyd Rose trem just never felt right in my hands. I sold it and bought the CAR Tele I still have and that guitar has always worked for me. It feels a lot like my acoustic only faster.
