I like it a lot. Saw it on face book. Like the look of the mahogany. I had one similar and way to much feed back but it played great. Good trade.

Well, so far I have not gotten any feed back. This is the 4th guitar I now own in this stile. When I play them I don't stand too close to the amp or stage monitors. I have never had a feed back problem out of any of them. There have been times I have played them really lowed too!
I played on her almost all day yesterday. She is real responsive, and the noting is nice and clear. I did adjust the poles in the pickups. Did some reading on adjusting the poles on the pickups. Seems to really hone in the sound of the strings. I think the guy I got it from would want it back now. HA!
I like guitars that I can play on for hours and never get tired of playing. this is one of them. I'll probably keep this one for a long while.
I'll be ordering the nes roller bridge for her soon, I hope, and that will help a lot with the Bigsby.

Eddie -- I was at GuitarCenter this week and I checked out the new Epi Dot Studios. What a great guitar, particularly for the money.
The one I looked at was only $299 and was a very nice looking guitar. What gauge strings did you put on yours?

this one has 10's on it. The guy I got it from had just put the string on it. He put the Bigsby on it. But he did give me the other tail piece for it, in case I wanted to put it back the way it was. They are a great guitar for the money.the one I have plays good. It had already had a setup done to it. But I did lower the string a little more. I still like my action low on my guitars.
But anyone wanting to get this stile of guitar, I don't think you could go wrong with it.
I also just pick up an Ibanez jazz stile guitar. It goes for around the 400 to 500 range new. It has slim body simi hallow... I traded for it as well. Another great guitar! I'll try and get some pictures of it too.
To me there are a lot of great guitars out there to had. I just wish people would stop looking at guitars for resale and start looking at them for how they play and sound, and to have fun playing them. It's not all about what it's worth. It's all about the music they make.

Cool trade EB. I bought a Yamaha SA2000 a couple of years back. I wanted the 2000s model with the solid (non-laminated) top (but rocking horse poo is thin on the ground...) My "vanilla" SA2000 is just so sweet sounding that I can't imagine the "S" variant being any better, and as you say- handles so many styles with ease. I'm sure you've discovered that your Epi makes a more than passable unamplified sound too? Of my guitars, only my Heritage Sweet 16 sounds better, and that doesn't play / feel quite so well. Enjoy!

The first time I play any guitar, I always play them unplugged. I listen to how the guitar sounds and then the feel and then I want to see and feel how it vibrates. If all of them things pass my test then I plug them in. Most times they will sing just the way I thought they would. Only a few times have I come across some that didn't. But some of those were because someone had set the pickup way to high.
I love all my guitars. Each one have their own thing going on. My jazz guitars, the ES335 stile guitars, Teles and so on. Soon as I get to feeling better, I'll post some sound videos.
We all have a our favorite guitars, and I am glad we are not all the same in what we like or don't like. But all guitars are cool! Even the pointy ones... HA!

Little things can make a big difference. I bought a roller bridge for this guitar. It came in today, I installed it, and I have to say it made a big difference in the way this guitar plays. Now she stays in tune when using the Bigsby. I think anyone that instals a Bigsby type bridge should go all the way and put the roller saddles in as well. EB

Good to hear, Eddie. Where did you get the bridge? Any tips on installation?
Thanks John

John, I bought the bridge from a guy off eBay from Canada. Took lees than a week to get. (funny how I can get things out of the USA faster than buying here in the USA)
This has to be the easiest swap out I eve have done. All I had to do was loosen the strings, take off the old one and put the new one on. I use the same bridge mounts that are on the guitar. What was really cool is... I checked the inattention and it was spot on! WOW!!! Never had that happen before!!!
As far as the action went, it did not change, if it did I could not tell.
In buying a bridge, it is a good idea to get the right measurements, and know if your bridge is using the big mounting bushings or the small ones. You can't buy just any bridge and hope that it works.
I have found though, that most guitars, Like EPI, all use the same stile bridge. They all use metric measurements. USA made ones I assume will be using standard measurement. so it is important to know what you have.

Off topic I know but... I bought a 1970s clear bobbin P90 from a Canadian eBayer on the 27th March and still no sign of it. I reckon it was sent by dog sled!

Wow!antares, I never had to wait that long. Even when I buy stuff from China or Japan. It takes longer for it to come through USA mail than it does to get to the USA. But I still in most cases get it in a week or less for the stuff coming from other country's. The stuff I buy here in the USA really depends on when the seller decides to ship it. I had one guy wait two weeks before he sent it. After I reported him to eBay then and only then did he ship it. I only went to eBay after many time of trying to find out what the heck was going on. I got one email from him and this is what he told me... Well you are getting free shipping and free shipping is a low priority and I ship items when I feel like it." I thought What? ? Your the one that offered free shipping!!! But anyway I get this once in a while. I don't mess with it too long now before I report them. I mean they have your money now I want my item. did your seller give you a tracking number? That is something else I wont do now. If the seller doesn't want to give me a tracking number I won't buy from them. I have lost money and time with people not wanting to be on the up and up. The old days of eBay was even worse about scamers. EB

Antares - have you started the complaint process with ebay? I strongly suggest you do.
I recently paid for a guitar on ebay that didn't come and no tracking info was provided. The seller had over 6000 transactions, so it must be a business. I think the sold it through their brick and mortar store, or on crag's list, and never got around to removing it from ebay.
I got my money back with no explanation.

Hey guys,it's no problem really and patience is a virtue n'est ce pas? The seller has been brilliant. He gave me a tracking number and you can see how many hops it made and days it took before it even left Canada. Also, he has been tracking it too, and has apologised because it was a premium priced tracked despatch method. Too, he knocked off 10 bucks from the final selling price because the screws were mis-matched and he said my guitar deserved better. Any hold up now is due to UK Customs & Excise getting around to working out the import charge... But I do agree with opinions regarding eBay. It does seem to me that eBay is much improved nowadays, you do still get the odd one as you'd expect. My issue with eBay these days is the tailored response that I get to my searches. A bit like Google really. What happened to all those "mom &pop" style websites that we used to get on a Google search? It's all big commerce / buy it now these days. eBay actively state that if you hit sellers on their star ratings, they shove them down the ratings list of auctions. Rant over- sorry. Sometimes you gotta!

Ha! that is what the net is for (ranting) Ha! But it's good to share what happens on eBay or anywhere else. That way maybe we can help someone not to get stung. I sure It will still happen, but not as much. No mater what the rating is, I always email the co or people, to see if they respond to my questions. If they don't respond then I don't buy. Simple as that. I know there are some who put on their ad that they don't have the man power to respond to emails. But too me that is a part of posting on eBay or CL or anywhere else. If people are going to sell then they need to respond to emails or give up a phone number so they can be called. Why should a buyer have to buy off of a picture that most times are called (stock picture) with no communication on their part?
Like I said I have been stung lots of times on line. So now as a buyer and seller I have toughened up on the way I buy things and sell things. I don't care anymore how good a deal it may sound. If a seller won't communicate, then to me they are up to no good. I will not buy from them.
Now there has been times (not too many) that I still got took. But I do report them and have gotten my money back. But what a hassle.
OK that was my rant! LOL! EB
